Death: May 7, 2008
Saint George

Beverly passed away May 7, 2008 in St. George, Utah of natural causes. Beverly was raised in Salt Lake City by her parents James K. & LaVerne Booth. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions including Relief Society president and counselor, gospel doctrine teacher, and road show director. She also served an LDS mission in California at the age of 18. She married Oscar G. Rowland on July 21, 1949 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple by Elder John A. Widtsoe. Beverly was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in 20 films and television productions both locally and nationally. She is best known in her church for her screen role in 'Mr. Krueger's Christmas' and it was months before she would wash the hand that lead actor James Stewart kissed. She also appeared in many other church films. She was a talented voice on radio and books on tape and was often asked to perform theatrical readings. Beverly was a beautiful woman who was the life of the party. In addition to the theatre she was an accomplished doll maker and quilter and has left us with many wonderful creations as a reminder of her talents. Beverly found much joy in her posterity and friends. Though some friends have preceded her in death they are now greeting her with warm embraces. While we mourn her loss, we also hope for a happy reunion. She is survived by her husband: Oscar Rowland and her children: Rebecca Rowland-Hines (Charles), Dr. G. Kim Rowland (Marlene), Reed Rowland (Sandra), Robert Rowland (Sandy) & Richard Rowland (Anita); 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
