This good man was my grandfather. Clyde Cox was born and raised in Wood county Ohio to farmers who were glad he was able to go to Starling College in Columbus Ohio (later O S U) to become a dentist because he didn't have enough common sense to be a farmer. He graduated in 1912, opened a dental practice in Toledo Ohio, married Grace Jones in 1913 and they raised three children in a family that enjoyed music, car camping, playing cards together and enjoyed their many friends. A generation later, he and my father shared the dental office. He opened his home to his mother in law, "Grandma (Emma Faries) Jonesy" after John her husband passed away in 1944. The home of Grandma and Grandpa Cox was also where their grandkids, "the cousins", would get together for enjoyable summer and holiday visits.
Despite the ravages of arteriosclerosis and senility (it was before Alzheimers), the sound of his laughter, and his jokes, pranks, and his sense of humor yet remain.
