Lingering Illness with Heart Trouble Fatal to Vermillion Resident

Final Rites Held at Vermillion Gospel Tabernacle Monday Afternoon

W. F. Adamson, well-known Vermillion resident, passed away at his home on Willow street Friday morning following a lingering illness with heart trouble and complications. Funeral services were held at the Vermillion Gospel Tabernacle at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The Elmore funeral service was in charge of arrangements. Pastor C. T. Beem gave the sermon from Romans 1:15 "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth." Pastor Beem was assisted by Evangelist M. C. Nelson, of Meckling, and Pastor H. D. Robeson, of Burbank. Evangelist Floyd B. Adamson, of Scranton, N. D., sang "Sunrise Tomorrow," and Pastor Earl B. Adamson, of Manaugo, Minn., and his wife sang "There Will be No Disappointments in Heaven." The deceased was born in Henry county, Iowa, in December 1880. April 8, 1902, he was united in marriage to Nellie Kellogg at Fort Dodge, Iowa. Eight children were born to this union, all of whom are living. They are: Lawrn, Vermillion; Mrs. Mable Goodwin, of Naperville, Ill.; Marion, of Warrenville, Ill.; George, Beaver Creek, Minn.; Mrs. Irene Gilman, Fairmont, Minn.; Ward, Seattle, Wash.; David, Brainard, Minn., and Harold, Vermillion. There are also 16 grandchildren and one brother, John, Vermillion, and one sister, Mrs. Will Colwill, Sioux Falls. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

Dies Friday Morning After a Lingering Illness; Burial in Bluff View

W. F. Adamson, 59, a resident of Vermillion for the last four years, died at 6:30 Friday morning at his home on Willow street. He had been bedfast with a severe heart ailment for months before his death. During the past few years Mr. Adamson had been in the used furniture business, in a room uder the Waldorf hotel, and later at the old Lee residence on Prospect street. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Gospel tavernacle on National street, Rev. Beem officiating. Burial was in Bluff View cemetery, under the direction of the Elmore service. Mr. Adamson was born in Henry county, Iowa, the son of Ben and Lucina Adamson. Prior to coming to Vermillion four years ago he had lived at Yankton. He is survived by his widow, eight children, and other relatives. The children are Lauren Adamson, Vermillion; Mabel Goodin, Naperville, Illinois; Marion Adamson, Warrenville, Illinois; George Adamson, Beaver Creek, Minnesota; Irene Gilman, Fairmont, Minnesota; Ward Adamson, Seattle, Washington; David Adamson, Brainard, Minnesota, and Harold Adamson, Vermillion. He is also survived by one brother, J. C. Adamson, Vermillion, and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Cowill, Sioux Falls.
