Lowell Evans Diamond, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 15, 2011.
Lowell was born December 10, 1930 in Park City, Utah to Frank Welles Diamond and Mary Wilda Evans.
He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; a champion ski jumper; a veteran of the Korean War (U.S. Navy); one of the original members of the 19th Special Forces; and a twenty-five-year veteran of the U.S. State Department and Utah Army National Guard.
Lowell married his sweetheart, Shirley Reye Blackson, on February 24, 1951, and they later sealed their love and family together forever in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1970. They spent sixty fun-filled and adventurous years together.
Lowell was a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family. He loved hanging out with his best buddy, his dog Toby. His sense of humor and booming laughter were contagious and his wife and family meant the world to him.
Lowell is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children: Garry (Peggy); Robert (Patricia); Randall; Mark (Carla); and Michelle (Jeff); eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, Bob, Cornell, and Bernita; and a grandson, Robert Lowell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. George Cotton Acres Ward Chapel.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Veteran's Memorial Park Cemetery (Bluffdale, Utah).
