He was son of the late William R. and Gertrude (Lyons) Cooper. He spent his early years in Blessed Sacrament School and then graduated from Boston College High School. He then joined the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Returning to civilian life, he worked for Raytheon and Gen Rad. He built his house in Littleton where he and his family lived for 49 years. He attended Boston University and received a degree in electronics and furthered his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor (Vasseur), his daughter Elizabeth Curley and her husband Richard of Westford, 2 grandchildren, and one great grandson. Also survived by four sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
