He was the husband of Mary (Fougstedt) Crory, to whom he was married for 47 years. He was a son of the late William and Jennie (Mathison) Crory. He graduated from Littleton High school in 1948 and that year began service in the Marine Corps.
He was a Marine drill sergeant and Korean War veteran. He left the military in 1952 with a rank of staff sergeant.
He was a former tax collector for the town of Littleton.
He was a member of St. Anne's Church in Littleton, the Holy Name Society and the Littleton Lions Club. He was also an avid golfer and gardener.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and their spouses, Michael and Diane Crory, Paul and Janet Crory, Mark and Amy Crory, Patricia and Edward Legenza, Joanne Crory, and Meg and Martin Kelley; two brothers, William D. Crory Jr. and Frederick E. Crory; two sisters, Loretta Prehl and Mary Christiansen; as well as 19 grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Brian Crory.
