Jessie Adams of Ewing Township, formerly of Mount Holly, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Masonic Home of N.J. in Burlington. He was 82.

Born in Pocahontas, MS, he enlisted with the U.S. Army, where he served his country for more than 22 years, retiring in 1968 as a sergeant first class.

He then settled with his family in the Mount Holly area for the remainder of his life.

Jessie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his home and the maintenance it involved.

He is survived by his wife, Choon (Lee) of more than 53 years; five children: Jesse Adams (Tracey), Gerome Adams, Rhonda Valentine (Eddie), Yvonne McGuire (Daniel), Robert Adams; 13 grandchildren: Blayne, Gerome II, Teale, Jordan, Logan, Anastasia, Devin, Kyle, Travis, Anthony, Marshall, Rhianna, Jayla; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Main Post Chapel, Fort Dix, N.J. Interment will follow in the N.J. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Friends may call at the chapel from 10 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
