Augustus is the son of Benjamin Kenyon and Elizabeth (Langworthy) Kenyon. He has American Kenyon identification number 1713. Augustus was married to more than one woman.
He first married Joanna Barber in 1798, Hopkinton, Rhode Island. She was first married to William Pendleton.
One headstone says one wife was Gracy.
He first appears on the 1820 New York Census in Plainfield, Otsego, New York. He came to Wirt, Allegany County, New York around 1825.
He is shown on the 1830 New York Census living in Friendship, Allegany County, New York, with similar age wife.
An account in the history of Allegany County states he had six children.

* Benjamin, b 1803, m 1st Rhoda Wright, 2nd Mary Walling
* Alanson, died 1875, who married Polly Lucinda Maxson
* Joel, 1801-1878, m. Lovicia Maxson
* Lewis, who settled in Livingston County, Illinois.

His obituary, in Wirt, Jan. 20, 1854:
"Augustus Kenyon, aged 80 years. Bro Kenyon was a member of the Seventh-day Baptist connection some 60 years, and bore the heat and burden of his day with strength of body and mind. He was at the time of his death a faithful member of the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Richburg. The meritorious atonement of Christ supported him in sickness and death." ("The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 10, No 34, p 135, Feb. 2, 1854.)
