Thomas Morgan married Ophelia Mae Cooper on March 10, 1886 at White Rock, Michigan in a double ceremony with his brother George Joseph.
Thomas Henry, also called Tom, was 23 years old when he moved to Sigel Twp, Huron Co Michigan with his parents. He became a naturalized American Citizen in Bad Axe Michigan on April 21, 1888. He was baptized in the RLDS Church at Harbor Beach, Michigan on Feb 1, 1886 by J. J. Cornish.
After his marriage, Tom and Mae lived on a 40 acre farm in Section 12, Sigel Twp, Huron Co, Michigan and later moved to a farm in San Beach Twp, Huron Co, Michigan. In April 1904, he visited in Oklahoma and for a while farmed in the area while his family remained in Michigan, but returned to his farm in Michigan. In December 1906 he and his family moved to Colgate Indian Territory (Oklahoma) where they settled on a small farm near Gage. (his health necessitated a change of climate)
He was shot and killed by a neighbor in a dispute over a fence line. The person who shot him was convicted of second degree manslaughter. The doctor's report was that he was shot in the back. His 17 year old son was also killed. His daughter (my grandmother) and several of his other children were present at the time.
His son, Henry, was also shot. They carried him to a neighbor's house, which is pictured to the right, where he died before the doctor arrived.
