She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Herbert L. and Ethel Mae Dooley Parker; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include sister, Angielou Nicholson of Danville; brother, Will H. Parker of Muncie and several nieces and nephews.

She is buried beside her parents.

Miss Parker was my elementary principal at Avon Community Schools. She started as principal at Avon the year before my parents moved to the community when I was two. She retired the same year I graduated from high school. Miss Parker was the epitome of what a principal should be. She commanded respect where ever she was. She could step out into the hallway, raise her hand and we could hear the quiet come down the hallway.

The last time I saw her was in the late 90s. She still recognized me after all that time. And I certainly recognized her. She seemed to never change much. And she always had vivid memories of her students.

One of the brothers who preceded her in death was Indiana's former lieutenant governor (1957 to 1961) Crawford Fairbanks Parker.
