George Joseph Lubben
Lubben, George Joseph, 58, of Yorba Linda. A detention release officer of 25 years for the County of Orange. Lost his battle with cancer on his birthday August 11, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his wife, family and friends. George was born on August 11, 1948 in Chicago, IL, to Frank and Annabelle Lubben. He also retired from the Garden Grove police department. George was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Mickey; daughters, Amy Lubben and Halily; son-in-law, Jarrod Holiday; 2 step-children, Momi Kohatsu and Stephen Kohatsu; 4 loving grandchildren, Ivan, Alexsa, Kirby and Trevor Holiday; sister Berni (Larry) Nees, Geri (Joe) Sexton, Pat (Dino) DiMarco; brother Tom (Judy) Lubben; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also served 28 ½ years with the Navy and Coast Guard. Funeral service to be held at 7:00pm on Friday, August 18, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 19791 Yorba Linda Blvd., Yorba Linda, CA. Family and friends are invited to attend a light dinner reception at the St. Martin Parish Hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George Lubben Memorial Fund c/o Micaela Lubben at the Orange County Credit Union. George was a very gentle giant and caring person.
