He was the third of ten children born to John Enos CAMPBELL (1791-1870) and Elizabeth MITCHELL Campbell (1800-1870).
Enos was married to Matilda Tabatha HILL around 1850 in GA.

Enos served in the Civil War in Company E, 39th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee, Walker County, Georgia, known as the "Walker Light Guards". The regiment was led by his wife's brother, Captain Charles D. Hill. Another of his wife's brother's was also in the regiment, Private James B. Hill. Family stories have always said that Enos was sneaking home at night to visit his family, since his regiment was stationed nearby. Some men in his regiment were jealous of him, so they turned Enos over to the North. Matilda and the children moved to Texas soon after the war ended.
