CHARLES WILLIAM "DAGO" DAVIS, 75, died June 1, 2005 after his battle with cancer. Dr. Davis, a native Houstonian, graduated from Lamar High School in 1947 where he was president of the senior class, captain of the city championship football team and elected to the all-city team. While attending Texas A&M University, he was active in intramural athletics and elected to the Student Senate. After graduating with his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1953, he entered the Army where he served as a 1st Lieutenant. He started his veterinary practice in Houston in 1955 where he practiced for over 25 years. He was a past president of the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, a longtime board member of the Houston SPCA, a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and a member of the District Attorney's Office Grand Jury Committee. He is survived by daughter, Rhonda Davis; daughter, Donna Davis, her husband, Barry; granddaughter, Madigan Davis; brother, Jack Davis, his wife, Jessie, all of Houston; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, 10202 Memorial Drive. Donations may be made to the Harry Edwin Davis Scholarship Fund at The University of St. Thomas, 3800 Montrose Blvd. Houston, TX 77008.
