Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late William Nicholas and Daisy Malessa Risinger Watson, she was the wife of the late Elgain Leroy Cockrell. Mrs. Cockrell was a tailor and was a member of the Batesburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Arlander McKarion "Lane" Cockrell and Linda, of Saluda, Dupre LeVaine Cockrell and Barbara, of Lawrenceville, GA, Wayman Leverne Cockrell and Brenda, of Kennesaw, GA, and Zeral Stanford Cockrell and Esther, of Easley; a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne Octavia Stafford and Richard, of Bluffton; a sister, Sarah Katrina Stockman of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cockrell was preceded in death by a daughter, Loyce Valerie Cockrell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Talarico officiating. Interment will be in Travis Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
