Most information was taken from Civil War pension records applied for in 1927 in Spokane Co. WA. Joseph Alexander Darling was b/4/4/1846 in Peterboro, Canada to James Darling of Ireland. He served in the Civil War with 21st NY Calvalry and received pension from the government at the time of his death. He was residing in Bow, Skagit Co. WA at time of death and was noted as a farmer. The informant was Mrs. F.C. Lapine whom was his daughter her first name is unk at this time but she was noted as the sister to Mrs. Hefflebourn buried also at Evergreen! Joseph noted his wife name was Claria Wade and that he married her in Cass, MI in 1894. It does not say what happened to his wife but noted he was a widow when he passed away in 1933. His daughter Mrs. Lapine was residing in Seattle, WA. Joseph A. Darling is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, Snohomish Co. WA SnoCo: "The Karyn Project"
