Joshua Woodrow Sill
Birth: 1831
Death: Dec. 31, 1862

Civil War Union Brigadier General. He was killed at the Battle of Stones River, Tennessee,1862. Ft Sill, Oklahoma was named after him by General Phil Sheridan. He was the youngest Brigadier General in the U.S. Army. The plaque on his monument was dedicated to his memory by the men of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. 22 men in his brigade in April, 1862 became the Andrews Raiders along with civilians James J. Andrews and William Campbell.
