"Tommy" was born in Deanville, Tx, the youngest son of Pearl (nee Goodson) and Thomas William Connolly, Sr. He served in WWII in the U.S. Army, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Service Campaign medals, and saw action in New Guinea and East Netherlands. After the war, he married Mary Frances Genaro, and worked in Houston at an auto supply store. He eventually changed his last name from Connolly to Connally.
