Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. R.C. Bass, Sr. was Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Spanish Lake, Father Michael Manase officiated. Interment followed, with military honors, at St. Anne's Cemetery.

Mr. Bass, 82 years of age and a resident of Spanish Lake, passed away Wednesday August 14, 2013 in Natchitoches. He was born September12, 1930 in Powhatan, LA to the late Charles Everett and Louisa Axley Bass. He was a Korean War veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three daughters; his son of San Antonio, TX; a brother of Keithville. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Lee Davis Bass; and a son, Robert Bass, Jr.; sisters, Sadie Morvan, and Lillie Durr; and a brother, Joe Bass.

Services were under Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
