Will Dickerson was a 38 year old victim of the Winecoff Hotel fire in Atlanta, Georgia on December 7, 1946. He was staying in room 1630 along with his wife Mary and two children Mary Melinda and Bill. Will's family was from Douglas, Georgia. He was the director of unemployment compensation for Georgia's labor department. He graduated from Washington and Lee law school. During World War II he was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He was spending the weekend with his family in Atlanta while awaiting the completion of a new house in the area.
William DeGraffenried Dickerson, 38 years of age, of Douglas, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, December 7th, 1946 in the Winecoff Hotel fire at Atlanta, Georgia. William was a Washington & Lee University Law School graduate. He survived the Battle of the Bulge and was a director of unemployment compensation for Georgia's labor department. He perished along with wife, Mary, and two children Mary Melinda and Bill.
