PFC Christopher Eugene Brooks was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, PFC Brooks served our country until July 3rd, 1966 in South Vietnam. He was 18 years old and was not married. It was reported that Christopher died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. PFC Brooks is on panel 08E, line 122 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.
PFC Christopher Brooks gave all on that fateful day of 3 July l966. We were members of the same 3d Platoon, Co B, 1st Bn, 35th Inf, 3d Bde Task Force, 25th Inf Div. PFC Brooks was killed in action in the Ia Drang Valley (Pleiku Province). He will never be forgotten. Eighteen men from B Company, 1/35th Infantry, died in the Ia Drang Valley on 03 July 1966. Two of the wounded died within days. PFC Christopher E. Brooks is remembered by his fellow soldiers of the 35th Infantry, the Cacti Regiment.
