PFC James Clinton Bryant, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Andrews, NC.

Private First Class James Clinton Bryant was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, PFC Bryant served our country until April 17th, 1968 in Hua Nghia, South Vietnam. He was 24 years old and was not married. It was reported that James died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a mine. PFC Bryant is on panel 50E, line 026 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

I was a classmate of Clint's at Andrews High School. After our freshman year in 1960, Clint dropped out of school. I rarely saw him after that. I remember in school that Clint loved to draw and was know for his drawings. Clint's name was "P.A." because he smoked Prince Albert in the can. Can you image a teenager in these days carrying Prince Albert in the can and rolling his own cigarettes everyday at recess! Clint, thank you for giving your life that we all can live free. Richard Pullium, Sgt(E-5)2nd Armored Calvary Division, Germany, 1966 to 1967.

I was named after him, I never had the chance to meet James, but I heard many stories growing up about him. He was my Father's best friend. I'm very proud to carry my middle name knowing that I was named after a great man. I will never forget you. :) Eric Clinton Ledford, 600 College St. Oxford NC 27565.

He was the son of Mr and Mrs James W Bryant, Box 695, Andrews, NC. Brother to Audrey Bryant Trull, Joseph & Larry Bryant. The father of Kimberly White Burns.

He served with Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, "Manchus", 25th Infantry Division, "Tropic Lightning", USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
