Merwyn "Ish Kabibble" Bogue
Birth: Jan. 19, 1908
Erie County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Jun. 5, 1994
Palm Springs
Riverside County
California, USA

Cornet player and Comic. Billed as Ish Kabibble, Bogue made a career out of pretending to be what he was not. Sporting an undersize hat and over-size bangs, he played a moronic sidekick to Big Band leader Kay Kyser on the radio and TV hit Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge. He earned his nickname from a comedy performance of the Yiddish song "Isch Ka Bibble" (I Should Worry). The song was popular with the public and people began to call him by its name. Bogue turned from music to selling real estate when big bands declined in popularity. (bio by: MC)
