Mayme L. Lady, 75, 1732 McKinney Street, Kingsport, died Friday [Sept. 22, 1989] at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sullivan County, she had lived all of her life in the Kingsport area. She was a former employee of J. Fred Johnson, and the Nettie Lee Shops. She was a member of the Glen Alpine United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, A.M. "Dick" Lady; one daughter, Virginia Creech, Orlando, Fla.; one son, Wallace Lady, Kingsport; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Hilton Kicklighter and Mary Emma Hilton Parker, both of Kingsport; three brothers, William "Bill" Hilton and Kermit Hilton, both of Blountville, and W.G. Hilton, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Mayme was a daughter of Arthur B. and Sarah C. Hilton. She married Arthur Monroe "Dick" Lady 9 September 1935.
