KILBOURNE, IL - Russell Eugene Hughes, 52, of 609 W. Chestnut died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2000, at his residence.
He was born January 2 1948, in Springfield Illinois, the son of Otis Wayne and Floye Berneda Conklin Hughes.
Surviving are his mother of Kilbourne, three sisters, Jeanette (Richard) McCaulley of East Peoria, IL, Kathleen (William) Hahn of Bath, IL, Vivian (Jim) Freeman of Kilbourne, IL and two brothers, Charles (Linda) Hughes of Morton, IL and Danny (Cheryl) Hughes of Kilbourne, IL.
His father preceded him in death on April 25, 1977.
A Vietnam War Army veteran, he was a member of Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408 in Havana, IL.
Russell was a clerk at Prater Grocery Store in Kilbourne for 25 years. He was a member of the Kilbourne Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. The Rev. Kenneth Wagstaff will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kilbourne Cemetery.
