Dtr of Richard and Margaret Pennypacker High Benton. Her father who came to Davenport in the 1840s, was proprietor of the Scott Hotel, and early hotel located at First and Harrison Sts (River Drive or 2nd St.)
Husband Thomas John built the home at 3215 Rockingham Road in 1893. He died there 14 Jan 1914 as did Anna. They had 3 dtrs who were namesakes for 3 streets in Rockingham Township. Ada Ave no longer exists - it is now Johnson Ave. Thomas platted that part of sw Davenport and named it Bawden's Addition in 1895. He founded Valley Place Investment in which the children of Stephen Bawden participated in the sale of the original farm land. They were life-long members of the Methodist Church. She died of myocarditis.
