RETIRED MILL OPERATOR DIES
John T. (Jack) Weller, 75, of 3120 Riverside Airport road, a retired mill owner, died at 3 p.m. Thursday (May 1) in the emergency room of Good Samaritan Hospital shortly after arrival. He had been stricken ill earlier at his home.
Mr. Weller had been associated with his father and brother in operation of J. W. Weller and Sons Milling Company in East Fultonham, retiring in 1957.
He was born June 30, 1893, in East Fultonham, a son of John W. and Laura Lenhart Weller. He was a lifetime resident of East Fultonham until moving to Zanesville in 1952.
He was a member of Euclid Avenue Methodist Church, a 55-year member and past master of Muskingum Lodge 368, F. & A. M. at Fultonham, a 32nd degree member of Scottish Rite and a member of Aladdin Shrine. He was also a 50-year member of United Commercial Travelers.
Surviving are his widow, Florence E. Weller; a son, James F. Weller of Bloomfield, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Laura) Draper of Hillsboro, Ill; four grandchildren and a great-grandson; a stepson, William Welker of Riverside Airport; and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother, Rollin Weller, and two sisters, Mrs. Deward (Jessie) Watts and Mrs. Theodore (Eunice) Barnett, are deceased.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home in White Cottage where Muskingum Lodge will hold ritualistic services at 7 p.m. today.
