Charles Henry Banium
ENTERPRISE — Funeral services were held in the L. D. S. Ward Chapel for Charles Henry Barnum, 67, who died Sunday at his home here of heart trouble. Interment was in the Enterprise City Cemetery. He was stricken November 9 and had been bedfast since.
Mr. Barnum was born April 2, 1864. at Wanship, Utah, a son of John Bunnell Barnum and Esther Minerva Murray . When only a small child his father was drowned, and at the age of 8 he came with his mother to the Dixie mission. She was married here to John Pulsipher, one of the founders of Hebron.
He married Miss Elizabeth Julianna Tait of Cedar City on March 17, 1883, in the St. George Temple and for a few years they lived at Hebron until the town was abandoned. They moved to Enterprise about 25 years ago anc since that time he has been one of the leadlng citizens.
Mr. Barnum was a large stockholder in the Enterprise Reservoir & Canal Company and spent several years in the promotion of the project. He was active in the L. D. S. church and was a high priest at his death.
Surviving are his widow, one son and five daughters: Mrs.Rhoda Ann Tait(Don Thomas)Emett, Cascade. Mont.; William Barnum(Ruth Snow), Mrs.Esther Elizabeth or Lizzie(Don Carlos or Carl)Emett. Mrs.Lorenzie(John)Day Jr and Mrs.Henrietta(Henry)Day,Enterprise; Mrs.Lena Bell(Edwin Elmer)Sprague, Fort Wayne, Ind.
