Opal Olive Watkins, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001 at Hospitality House in Bloomington. Born Aug. 22, 1906 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Jospeh and Alice (Groomer) Luke. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Newark General Baptist Church and the Newark Wantatry Club. Survivors include one son, Paul L. Watkins of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnard Watkins on Sept. 30, 1987; two sons, Floyd Watkins and Raymond Watkins; one daughter, Maxine Davis; two sisters, and her parents. Funeral services will be held at the Newark General Baptist Church at Newark at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Revs. Marion Noel and Davy Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Newark Cemetery.
