Wilhelmina (Minnie) Clara Haug, 82, of Rt 1, Seneca, died September 18, 1984, shortly after arrival at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital. Her death was due to an apparent heart attack.
Minnie was born June 16, 1902, on a farm southwest of St. Benedict, the oldest child of George and Elizabeth Engelken Stallbaumer. Minnie attended a country school and later St. Mary's School, St. Benedict.
On January 5, 1931, she married George Haug at St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict. He was a bricklayer and they lived several places in Kansas where his work was accomplished. When George died on October, 9, 1940, she returned to her parents home at St. Benedict. There she helped take care of her parents and later kept house for her brothers, Alfred and Adrian (Ted).
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at St. Benedict. Minnie liked to crochet and quilt and enjoyed visiting with her nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Surviors include her son, Maurice, of Seneca; four brothers, Alfred, Cyril, Raymond and Emmett, all of Seneca; two sisters, Mrs Leona Nolte, Atchison, Ks; and Mrs Frank (Rita) Broxterman of Baileyville.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; two brothers, Hubert Stallbaumer on October 13, 1978; and Adrian (Ted)Stallbaumer on February 11, 1984; and a sister, Mrs Lawrence (Cora) Hammes on July 15, 1975.
Funeral services here held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Benedict, KS. Burial in the church cemetery.
