He began his career in 1914. He appeared in "Our Gang" serials as the older brother to Miss Crabtree. He also appeared in classic film "Casablanca" (1942) as the gambler inquiring about casino's honesty. Often he was uncredited and played minor roles. Among his films: "The Taint" (1914), "This Woman" (1924), "On Your Toes" (1939), "The Maltese Falcon" (1941), "Mr. Skeffington" (1944), "Johnny Belinda" (1948), "Goodbye, My Fancy" (1951) and "Westbound" (1959).
