Vic's obituary read: "City Man Dies at 44 at Home - Vernon W. (Vic) Epperson, 44, died unexpectedly Monday evening at his home, 505 W. Woodbury St. He was service manager for many years at Glen T. Smith's Chrysler & Plymouth Motor Sales Service. An ardent golfer, he won the WDAN hole-in-one tournament in 1953. He also enjoyed photography, and particularly, the raising of roses. He was affiliated with Chrysler about 25 years, formerly working for L.D. Wyman Agency. A member of Olive Branch Lodge 38, he attended Central Christian Church.
The son of William R. and Lillie Ross Epperson, he was born November 7, 1915 in Sidney. he came to Danville with the family at age 5, and attended schools here. On July 25, 1933, he was married in Newport, Indiana, to Juanita Stovall who survives. Other survivors include his parents of Danville; a brother, James of Covington; sister, Mrs. Loretta Rice, and grandmother, Mrs. Leona Farnsworth, both of Danville.
The body is at Edmund-Dickson Funeral Chapel for services at 2 P.M. Thursday. The Rev. Edward L. Young will officiate, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Masonic services also will be held by Olive Branch Lodge 38."
