Daughter of Gardenville truck farmer John Henry Koppelman and Elizabeth Weber Koppelman, Elizabeth trained to become a nurse at the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum (later known as Sinai Hospital of Baltimore). She was one of the six women in the program's third graduating class, May 1911. She worked at the Hebrew Hospital, and later as a private nurse.
After John H. Koppelman's death and the sale of the farm, Elizabeth and her mother and sister Macy went to live with another sister, Margaret Koppelman Gleitsman.
Elizabeth is buried in the Koppelman plot, with her parents, brothers and sisters.
