Death: Feb. 7, 1987

John was always a nice guy. We belonged to same 4-H Club when we were young (Loyal 4-H). We both were very active in the 4-H Club. He won many awards from that organization. We were together from Poy Sippi Kindergarten in 1963, to Poy Sippi Elementary, to Clay Lamberton Junior High, and right through Berlin High School. He was in my class at Berlin High School, graduating with me in 1977. When we were in the "Loyal 4-H Club", he entered mainly cows and produce in the County Fair in Wautoma. He always did very well. He won many blue ribbons at the Fair for his livestock and his produce that he grew on the family farm. He always got rewards for them at the 4-H achievement night in Wautoma. He was born to be a farmer. In High School he excelled in FFA. He was a great athlete. He was on the varsity baseball team there and participated in other sports while in School. He was a faithful member of the Borth United Methodist Church. After graduation, I didn't hear much from him. He worked with his father on the family farm. No one knew, and who would have believed, that he suffered from depression, real bad. While his folks were in town, he cleaned up the barn, then cleaned up the car bay. Then, sadly, he took his own life. I was living in Oshkosh when I heard the news. John was such a nice guy, helpful, athletic, smart, who would have ever thought it would end that way!

John's Funeral Service was held at the Borth United Methodist Church. John is buried in a plot next to where his Father is buried.

He isn't family, but a friend that I had from Kindergarten on to Graduation from High School in 1977, a member of my 4-H Club, a guy I respected, and he should be remembered for more than just being "another stone" in the cemetery.

John, I hope that now you have found the peace that escaped you in life.

John 14: 6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the away, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
