Cynthia Louise Dacus Bontemps, 53, died August 28, 2010.
The memorial service will be held Friday, September 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Winona.
Cindy was born and raised in Kilmichael, MS. She is survived by her husband Fred Bontemps of Cary, NC, her son Jeremy Bontemps of Cary, NC, her parents Fred B. and Sara Garrett Dacus of Winona, MS, her sister Barbara Dacus Hoffman of Boerne, TX, her brother John Dacus of Houston, TX, her sister Patricia Dacus Mills of Gulf Shores, AL, nephews Jay and Michael Hoffman, one niece Caroline Hoffman, and one great-nephew Garrett Hoffman.
At an early age it was apparent to those who knew Cindy that she was a gifted child. She was an accomplished pianist by the time she was a teenager, and when she was sixteen she had enrolled in college. She graduated summa cum laude with a nursing degree from Mississippi State College for Women.
Cindy was a compassionate nurse, and her nursing skills earned her the respect of her peers. While working at Gulfport Memorial Hospital she obtained her M.B.A. degree.
While living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Cindy met Fred Bontemps whom she married on February 5, 1994. They moved to Phoenix, AZ where they adopted their son Jeremy.
She will forever hold a place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
