Died January 19, 1843, aged 88 years. Grave in Dry Brook Cemetery, town of Poland. At the commencement of the Revolution he joined the Continental army and served seven years. He was at the Battle of Bunker Hill, marched in the army of Benedict Arnold to Quebec and was at the storming of that city. He also participated in the engagements at Trenton, Monmouth and Valley Forge. He and his wife, Acenath,(Asenath Bill) were natives of Massachusetts. With his sons, Joseph and Norton Bill, he emigrated to Chautauqua County in 1832 and settled in the town of Poland. He is mentioned as a pensioner in the Census of 1840 and residing with his son Joseph Bill in the town of Poland.

He was married to 3rd cousin Asenath Bill Birth: 18 NOV 1759 dau of James and Asenath NORTON Bill
