Birth: May 27, 1971
Ulster County
New York, USA
Death: Jan. 7, 2007
Baghdad, Iraq

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Weiner was assigned to the 775th Civil Engineer Squadron, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Weiner, an explosives expert, was killed by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. The bomb exploded in the town of Al Mahmudiyah. A car appeared in front of a compound gate and the explosives team was sent to check it out. As they approached the vehicle, the bomb was remotely detonated. Timothy moved with his mom to Florida when he parents divorced and graduated from Piper High School in Sunrise, Florida. He was a normal kid who would rather go fishing and camping than playing sports. Without a man in the house, Timothy developed his own sense of authority, responsibility and family, marrying his high school sweetheart after graduation and enlisting in the Air Force in 1990. He was always interested in joining the military and had a fascination with aircraft, did model planes, and talked about being in the Air Force since he was 8 years old. He was trained to safely dispose of bombs and maintain safe passage for convoys on supply routes. His family couldn't understand why he chose this line of work, but he believed he could save lives he was proud and determined to do the best he could. Timothy was in the middle of his second tour of duty and was scheduled to return home in two weeks. He loved computers and planned to retire in three years. Timothy leaves behind his wife, Debbie, and teenage son. A memorial was held in Iraq where he was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
