William Gordon passed away peacefully on March 2, 2009. William was known as Bill to those who loved him. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on September 6, 1930. He grew up in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire in Scotland. A former resident of Detroit. He resided in Redford Township for 35 years before moving to Clinton Township in 2006. For the last three months Bill lived at Atria Shorehaven Assisted Living in Sterling Heights.
Bill served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. While Bill served in the Air Force he was stationed in South Africa and Germany.
After serving his country Bill worked for the J.L. Hudson Company. He worked as an electrical engineer and retired from Hudson's after 35 years. Music was one of Bill's great joys in life. Bill played the drums. In his youth he played Scottish music in castles in Scotland. Bill played the drums and played at Arthur Murray dances.
Bill is survived by his siblings Irene (Andrew) Tait and Alex "Sandy" (Cindy) Mutch. An uncle to Jeanette (Gene) Dygas and Margie (Don) Mueller.
Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at S.K. Schultz Funeral Home 43300 Garfield (just north of 19 Mile Rd) in Clinton Township. Visitation on Friday, March 6, 2009, from 2:00PM to 9:00PM with the funeral service at 7:00PM.
Interment on Saturday 11:00AM at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
