Harold A. Goyette, 79, of St. Clair died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in his home after a long illness. He was born September 12, 1929 in Pontiac to the late Arthur J. and Bonita Goyette.
He married Norma G. Terry on June 9, 1951 in Clarkston.
Mr. Goyette owned and operated the Goyette Funeral Home in Clarkston for 43 years.
He was a graduate of Wayne State University School of Mortuary Science.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was past president of the Clarkston Rotary, past president of Michigan Funeral Directors Association District Six, was a member of Clarkston Campbell-Richmond Post #63 American Legion, Cedar Lodge #60 F. & A.M., and had been a volunteer fireman with the Independence Township Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma; a daughter, Debara (Jerry) Stager of St. Clair; a son, Terry (Robin) Goyette of Flint; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Belinda) Wice, Angela (Donald III) Burgett, Travis, Sarah & Rebekah Goyette, Isaiah (Emily) Kehle & Mike (Christy) Stager; five great grandchildren, Mason Wice, Lucas & Allison Burgett, Marissa & Conner Stager; a sister, Lela (Stan) Blair of Mt. Clemens; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Dale Goyette.
Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Marysville Funeral Home.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Clarkston at 2:30 pm with graveside services provided by the Masonic Lodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice or Clarkston Rotary Club.
