After many years of poor health, the last two of which she was bedfast, Mrs. Henry Stahlhut, 64, passed to her reward last Saturday morning at 7:30 O'clock at her home in the northwest part of town.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. T.C. Klatt officiating, and burial took place in the Spring Fountain cemetery.

Marie Dorothea Stahlhut, nee Weihe, was born August 25, 1867, in Elgin, Cook county, Illinois, and died December 5, 1931, at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 10 days. Soon after her birth she was baptized by the pastor of the Lutheran church and at the proper age she was instructed in the doctrine of the church and confirmed in the year of 1880 by Rev. Adix of Buck Creek.

She was married to Henry Stahlhut April 2, 1888, and they resided for a number of years in Dayton township, taking up their abode in Sumner 19 years ago. To this union was born 10 children, seven of whom are living.

Surviving are the husband, two sons, Henry Jr. and Albert, and five daughters, Mrs. Henry Behrens, Mrs. Emil Gaede, Mrs. Ervin Sell, Mrs. Harold Rundle and Mrs. Edwin Meyer all residing in or near Sumner. Her mother, Mrs. Sophia Weihe, 88 of Tripoli also survives as well as two brothers, six sisters and 20 grandchildren.

For the past 30 years she has suffered from rheumatism and during the last two years she was confined to her bed and on Friday a slight change was noticed, and she passed away peacefully Saturday morning at 7:30.
