Heart Attack Fatal to G. J. McClenahan While at Work Last Friday
George J. McClenahan, aged 67, farmer living west of Sigourney, died unexpectedly last Friday from a heart attack. He had been repairing the fence on his farm in the morning and had returned to the barn, leading a horse. When he did not come to the house, Mrs. McClenahan became alarmed and went to the barnlot where she found him dead.
Mr. McClenahan was born in 1871 son of Mr and Mrs. James McClenahan. He was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Geno in 1898 and to this union was born one son, guy, who preceded his father in death in 1920.
He was engaged in farming durning his entire lifetime. Uniting with the Keenersburg church when a youn man, he held his membership there at the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife; one brother, Mervin McClenahan, local businessman; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Sanders of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. Henry Milburn and Mrs. Fred Geno of Sigourney and two grandsons, Wilmer and Guy McClenahan, local youths.
The funeral service was held at the home on Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. J.G. Ballensky. Burial was made in West Cemetery.
