FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.
VISITATION: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
LUNCH: Family will have lunch at First United Methodist Church at 12:00 Noon on Thursday.
Georgia Mildred Coan, age 99, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Comanche, Texas.
She was born on February 21, 1914, in Gorman, Texas, to Samuel Lewis and Nancy Ellen (Strickland) Nelson. On January 1, 1932, she was united in marriage to Hugh Alfonso Coan in Comanche. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1978. For many years Mildred was the school cook in Comanche. She was a devoted wife and mother and was beloved by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Florence Welch and husband Cotton of Comanche, and Sandra Cates and husband Len of Comanche; ten grandchild; eighteen great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Max Coan and infant daughter, Mary Ellen Coan.
