Dr. Kenneth C. Hartley, 74, of Nelson Road, Lancaster, died Monday in Crestview Manor Nursing Home.
A chiropractic physician who started his own practice in Lancaster in 1950, he served the community for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
A 1938 graduate of National College of Chiropractic, Chicago, Hartley first practiced in 1939 in Columbus, before coming to Lancaster. He was co-founder of Central Ohio Chiropractic Association and was instrumental in the organization of Ohio State Chiropractic Association. Hartley had done extensive post graduate work in chiropractic orthopedics.
He was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ and a board member of Maywood Mission.
He is survived by his wife Clara; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Doris Hartley of Lakeland, Fla., and Don Allen and Beckey Hartley of Decatur, Ind.; four grandchildren, David Lee and Dennis Hartley of Lakeland, and Allen and Andy Hartley of Marengo, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, James Robert and Betty Hartley of Worthington; and a niece, Mrs. Larry (Karen) Miranda of Worthington.
