Glenn Lazott

Glenn A. Lazott, Sr. of Forest Grove died Nov. 2 at Masonic and Eastern Star Home following a short illness. He was 71.

Memorial services were held Nov. 5 at Masonic and Eastern Star Home and Holbrook Lodge No. 30, A.F. and A.M. Interment was in Mt. View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lazott was born April 22, 1919, at Forest Grove the son of Joe and Enda Harper. He was raised and educated in Klamath Falls. He served 23 years in the US Navy. He served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was discharged in Norfolk, VA. He then worked as a custodian for Forest Grove School District No. 15 for 18 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of Holbrook Lodge No. 30 A.F. and A.M., Forest Chapter No. 42, O.E.S., of which was a past patron, and was worthy patron at the time of his death. He was a member of the Royal Arch Masons No. 37. He was a former member of the Forest Grove Elks No. 2440 and the Forest Grove Odd Fellows.

His hobbies included traveling in their RV, going to garage sales, and volunteering at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home. He and his wife started the bus project for the Masonic and Eastern Star Home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Forest Grove; sons Joe A. Lazott of Forest Grove; Glenn A. Lazott, Jr. of Forest Grove; step-sons Roger Rau of Cornelius; Larry Rau of Manning; Steven Rau of Bend; Brian Rau of Salt Lake City, UT; and Kevin Rau of Salem; sisters, Florence Moore of Forest Grove, Jessie Beimler of Salem; and Anna Alexander of Fresno, Calif.; and 18 grandchildren.

Remembrances may be contributions in his name to the Order of Eastern Star Cancer Fund.

Forest Grove Memorial Chapel handled the funeral arrangements.
