Sean Wells

HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. Sean Wells, 20, of Higginsville, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, in a Kansas City, Mo., hospital.

Born May 21, 1990, in Warrensburg, Mo., he was the son of James and Carol Spencer Wells. He was a lifetime resident of Higginsville and a 2009 graduate of Lafayette County C-1 High School.

He was attending Wentworth Military Academy junior college and was participating in its pilot emergency medical technician online course program.

He was a member of Higginsville Boy Scout Troop No. 415, earning his Eagle Scout in 2006. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, having been given the name of "Son of Deep Running Wells," and was a member of National Eagle Scout Association, National Technical Honor Society and Lafayette County Amateur Radio Emergency Services, which is a ham radio organization.

He and his father had helped with Computer Emergency Response Team and Youth Commission functions in Higginsville. He had worked at McDonald's and was currently working at Walmart in Higginsville. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother of Higginsville; an uncle, Dennis Spencer of Tucson, Ariz.; and an aunt, Lois Cossey of Cave City.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, located at 1907 Peach St. in Higginsville, with Dr. Greg Fine officiating. Burial will be in Higginsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Lockhart, Anthony Hoover, Randy Carlson, Andrew Nevels, Peter Thaller, Cody Meyers, Zach Green and Phillip Wooden.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hoefer Funeral Home, located at 1600 Main St. in Higginsville.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund; or Higginsville Boy Scout Troop No. 415.
