Adaline Wayne Van Allen is my second great grandmother and the daughter of James Wayne and Martha Ramsey of New Scotland, Albany County, NY.
Her paternal grandparents were Anthony Wayne and Sarah Johnson. Her maternal grandparents were John Ramsey and Margaret Connel, all of New Scotland, NY.
Both grandfathers, Anthony Wayne and John Ramsey fought in the Revolutionary War. Both were Privates and served in the New York Militia.
Adaline married Philip Van Allen on May 25, 1841 at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, New Scotland, NY.
Together, she and Philip had four children: John Philip, James Wayne, Martha Matilda and Anna Marie.

We learn that Mrs. Van Allen, who is well known in this city, died very suddenly last Friday at her home near Chalk Level. We did not learn the cause of her death. She was the mother of Mrs. Jno. S. Wilson, of Warsaw.

DIED - At her home in Chalk Level at 12 o'clock, Thursday, March 30, Mrs. Van Allen, aged 73 years and 10 months.
Mrs. Van Allen was born in New Scotland, Albany County, N. Y., in June, 1819. She was the wife of Phillip Van Allen, an old citizen of St. Clair County. Her husband and three children survive her.
