Adaline Wayne Van Allen is my second great grandmother and the daughter of James Wayne and Martha Ramsey of New Scotland, Albany County, NY.

Her paternal grandparents were Anthony Wayne and Sarah Johnson. Her maternal grandparents were John Ramsey and Margaret Connel, all of New Scotland, NY.

Both grandfathers, Anthony Wayne and John Ramsey fought in the Revolutionary War. Both were Privates and served in the New York Militia.

Adaline married Philip Van Allen on May 25, 1841 at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, New Scotland, NY.

Together, she and Philip had four children: John Philip, James Wayne, Martha Matilda and Anna Marie.

I have located two obituaries that are as follows:

We learn that Mrs. Van Allen, who is well known in this city, died very suddenly last Friday at her home near Chalk Level. We did not learn the cause of her death. She was the mother of Mrs. Jno. S. Wilson, of Warsaw.
