Ralph Raymond "Santa Claus" Chastain of 1614 Camp Springs Road died Wednesday at Annie Penn Hospital. He was a native of Parsons, Kansas and was a resident of Reidsville since 2001. With courage and tenacity, he served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He was a barber by trade.
Survivors are: one son, Stanley Chastain and spouse, Swannie of Caswell County; three grandchildren, Rebehak, Asta and April; one sister, Margaret Butler of Florence, Mississippi; other relatives and a multitude of friends. "Santa Claus," as many affectionately referred him, was a loving person who touched many lives by his thoughtful and giving nature. We thank God for his enrichment and presence in our lives. There will be no formal service. Funeral arrangements are by Johnson and Sons.
