Donald Jay Jager, aged 78, fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and is now in the hands of the Lord. Don entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 with his family by his side.
Don retired from Bissell Inc., where he worked as a die-setter. He faithfully served his country with the Marine Corps. His favorite past time was golf, golf, and more golf. Camping and family time were also high on his priority list along with being a handyman enjoying doing carpentry work.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Johannes and Tena Jager, brother, John, sisters, Jane Nugent, Mary Hoelsma and Ann Lindsey.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Margaret; his children, Beth Ann (Ralph) Maguire, Mark (Laura) Jager, Cheryl (Randy) Hickok, Michael (Chanda) Jager; grandchildren, Paige, Brooke and Grace Maguire, Brian and Erik Phillips, Collin and Raegan Hickok, Sydnee, Taylor and Kennedi Jager; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family greeted relatives and friends Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Rd.
