Stationed at Camp Bowie, in Brownwood, Brown, Texas and was apart of the 36th Division that particiated in WWII. He had the rank of Specialist 5th Class.
Travis Weldon Esselman, 71, a lifetime resident of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, November 4, 1996 at the VA Nursing Home in Waco.
He was born August 12, 1925 in Waxahachie to William Thomas and Mattie Mae Throckmorton Esselman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Ann Esselman of Waxahachie; one daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Lee Winkelmann of Waco; one brother Douglas Esselman of Waxahachie; two sisters, Ruth Cox of Waxahachie and Lousie Griggs of Center, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
