Mrs. Harry C. Trumblee, well-known resident of North Manchester, passed away at her home Monday, Sept. 25, 1939, after a prolonged illness, aged 67 years. Funeral services at the Brown Mortuary were held yesterday afternoon, the Rev. George Winters officiating, and burial was made in Oakland cemetery. Edith Alma Terry, daughter of Franklin J. and Martha A. Terry, was born at Alma, Neb., Mary 24, 1872. Her mother died when she was less that a year old, and she was taken into the family of Patrick Trumblee, who can to Coffin's Grove township, this county, where she grew to young womanhood. In June 1894, she was married to Harry C. Trumblee, and to them six children were born, one son dying in infancy. The surviving members of the family are the husband and the following children: Mrs. Ethel Van Vliet of Otley, Iowa, Mrs. Olga Cook of Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Ruby Kehril of Ryan, Mrs. Ida Redding of Dubuque, and Miss Eva Trumblee, at home. Surviving also are fourteen grandchildren; two half sisters Mrs. Mildred Curtis of Des Moines and Miss Nellie Terry of Detroit, Mich., and three half brothers, Earl, Stanley and Lester Terry, all of Oregon. Mrs. Trumblee was a faithful soul, conscientious, kindly and self sacrificing and her death is mourned by many friend who cane to fully recognize her good qualities exemplified by many deeds of neighborly helpfulness and kindness to others. Her husband and children are assured of the sympathy of the community in the sorrow.
