Catherine [Moore] Self

1822 - Jackson Co., AL

2nd Married Nancy H. [Titus] Storey
February 24, 1854
Windom, Texas - Fannin Co.

Adam Moore served for a short
time in the Civil War then came
home ill.
The last years of his life he
spent making wooden vessels for
people of the county.
He also made spinning wheels and
looms in order that the women of
the county might be able to spin
and weave cloth.
At the time of his death, he and
Lannius were partners engaged in
the manufacture of saddle trees.

Adam & Mahala were buried on their
farm and their neighbors were allowed
to use their family grave yard.
A school house was built and the
first teacher was Mr. A. H. Burnett.
The school was called Burnett
as was the Cemetery.

NOTE:
The Military headstone for
Adam Moore Self Sr.
was put at the cemetery by
Calvin Self, Allyn Self, Linda Self,
Tyler Self, JoLynn Self and
Jack Self II in 2005.
